Pacific Digital Memory Vue MV-800 Review
The frame looks more like a traditional picture frame than a digital picture frame. The frame itself is a cherry colored wood. The glass runs the length of the wood frame, and encloses a 1 inch black matte and the digital screen. The digital screen is measures 6 ¼ inches X 4 ¾ inches. This provides a nice large image. Screen resolution is 640 pixels X 800 pixels. This frame looks very classy and can fit in well in a formal setting.
This frame offers a variety of features in addition to just viewing pictures. You can play videos and music. There is not a USB connection for the computer and no onboard memory. I don €™t think this is a bad thing; you just need to transfer your files on to the memory card(s) you will be inserting into the frame. This may be difficult for those who do not have flash memory card readers built into their computers. Also you make run up against problems with the format the pictures are stored in on the computer and how they are viewed by the frame. You may run across a JPEG file error (link to ways to correct). The frame comes with a remote which helps control the picture slideshows, music and videos. The interface is very simple to use. Just take the card out of your camera and plug it into the frame and the slideshow begins. If you plan on viewing pictures on the horizontal orientation, make sure you take pictures in the horizontal orientation
